Thanks, guys, for the great suggestions - don't know if we'll have time to take any/all of them. Next time you're up here, though, allow us to recommend Big Star, in Wicker Park, for awesome tacos (!), and Mercat, on South Michigan, for upscale tapas: both places do wonderful things with pork belly.

Although south siders like myself rarely say anything that starts with C, ends in B, and has 3 letters; there is a wonderful stadium called Wrigl** that has tours you might enjoy. That's for you, Martin. Heather, if you like Italian try La Scarola on West Grand. Calamari - la bella.

I'll assume you won't go south or into Cicero but if you're tempted call me.

Oh, give those Big Shoulders a hug for me. If you have time, the Chicago History Museum is fabulous (slightly biased - I was their corp/fdn. grants manager in the 90's) - and if you want to walk the streets Algren walked, head out to Division Street west of Ashland and have a drink at either the Gold Star or the Rainbo Club. Have a great time, and safe travels!
