If you have time, the Chicago History Museum is fabulous (slightly biased – I was their corp/fdn. grants manager in the 90’s) – and if you want to walk the streets Algren walked, head out to Division Street west of Ashland and have a drink at either the Gold Star or the Rainbo Club.
